Buildings & Trusts

For many years we have had an annual church project to help a church in the EMBA reach out more effectively by updating its existing premises. Queensberry Baptist Church was the Church Project for 2016-2017 and their plans were to construct a new entrance to the church building to improve access for people with mobility issues. This appeal is now closed and Pete Milner from Queensberry BC was presented with a cheque for £3354.70 at the EMBA’s AGM/Association Day at Lincoln BC on 1st April 2017. Huge thanks to all the EMBA churches who donated to this appeal so generously.

If you attended the AGM in Lincoln on 1st April you will be aware that, as EMBTC now offer small property grants up to £5000, the Pioneering Project Fund is being brought in to replace the annual Church Project appeal taking the focus from buildings onto pioneering ministries within the EMBA.

The aim of the project is to empower, release and enable church plants and make pioneering sustainable in the long term.

  • A £100 donation from all the EMBA churches will cover a years grant for a Pioneering project
  • A £150 donation will fund a part time Pioneer for a year
  • £300 will fund a full time Pioneer Minister

Full details of the Pioneer Project Fund can be found here. Application forms and information about the EMBTC small grants can be found below.

EMBTC – Small Grants Fund

Maintenance of our Church buildings is a constant challenge. Many of our churches can be negligent of basic repair work because of the prohibitive cost involved. The EMBA Trust Board established a Capital Projects Fund a few years ago from which low interest or interest free loans can be negotiated. More details about the grants and how to apply for one are below:

Buildings issues? Not sure which way to turn? Want to make the most of your buildings? Derby based architect and Baptist Minister, Nigel Turner, has developed a Well Building Report for churches. The combination of his professional expertise and missional perspective could make this report an invaluable tool to help churches get to grips with their buildings. For more details, see the form below.
