Quorn Baptist Church, Leicestershire
Ministry Trainee Placement for 2017/18
Are you looking for an opportunity to explore your gifting for Christian service? Do you
want hands-on experience of a variety of ministry in a local church setting? Are you
prepared to work hard for God’s kingdom? Then we would welcome your application for
our Ministry Trainee Placement.
We are a friendly, Bible-believing, outward-looking evangelical church of approximately 70
adults and a number of children and young people based in the north Leicestershire village
of Quorn which has a population of around 5500. Our purpose is to bring people to Jesus
and into membership of His church family, develop them into Christ-like maturity, and equip
them for ministry in the church and mission in the world, in order to magnify God’s name.
We believe that this grows from a commitment to prayer, Scripture, discipleship and
pastoral support. It is worked out through an active involvement in the village and activities
including: friendship based events; children’s and youth work in the church and local schools;
Christianity Explored; prayer and fellowship groups; worship, Bible teaching and all-age
services.
We want to appoint a trainee who will be a born again believer with a deep commitment to
the Lord Jesus. They will want to serve in a local church setting, to learn more about
Christian ministry and be motivated to glorify God in all they do. They will be prepared to
work hard and be flexible, working to an agreed timetable with appropriate time off and
holidays.
The trainee’s time would be shared between the following:
 Ministry training – attendance at a Bible training course
 Hands-on ministry experience
 Practical ministry duties
 Personal study and mentoring
A bursary is available, together with board and lodging with a church family. The trainee
placement is available from September 2017 for 12 months, with the possibility of an
extension for another 12 months. Poster here for your noticeboard.
