Mission in the Community

Fresh Expressions

The Fresh Expressions movement began with the 2004 Mission Shaped Church report prepared by an Ecumenical group and published by the Church of England.  Reflecting a growing number of re-imagined church communities, the report suggested a recognition and provision for those seeking to work with changing culture and those not yet attending church.

Hope into Action

This wonderful charity seeks to provide the homeless with the dignity and safety of a home coupled with the relational richness of a local church team providing pastoral support. In partnership with two other Baptist churches it was birthed from Bretton Baptist in Peterborough and was built on the foundations of Isaiah 58.

Just-Ice

A social enterprise making artisan ice cream using only natural and fair-trade ingredients; creating employment for survivors of human trafficking, restoring their dignity and giving them hope and a future; profits going to secure the rescue and rehab of child soldiers around the globe.

Parish Nursing

A Christian charity which helps local churches appoint nurses, who in turn support people and communities towards whole person healthcare.  This is care for the person’s overall well-being, incorporating body, mind and spirit.

Renew Wellbeing

Renew Wellbeing helps churches open spaces of welcome and inclusion in partnership with mental health teams to improve mental and emotional wellbeing.

Urban Expression

An urban mission agency that recruits, equips, deploys and networks self-financing teams, pioneering creative and relevant expression of the Christian church in under-churched areas of the inner city, outer estates, and marginalised communities.
