EMBA Safeguarding Lead - Mr Kenny Henry
Kenny is the first point of contact for EMBA churches who have a safeguarding concern.
Kenny grew up in Glasgow and after completing his Engineering Apprenticeship moved to Loughborough where he obtained his degree in Production and Design Engineering. Upon graduation Kenny joined the police and served in various roles before completing his 30 years service in July 2023.
He is a Glasgow Rangers fan, a Scout Leader, and has recently taken up fly fishing.
Kenny worships at Shepshed Baptist Church with his wife Annette where he is Church Secretary, and has three grown up children.
Kenny is the first dedicated Safeguarding Lead employed by EMBA. Kenny is employed on a part-time basis and his normal working hours are as follows:
Wednesday 1pm -5pm
Thursday 9am – 5pm
Friday 9am – 5pm

EMBA Safeguarding Adviser – Mr Alan Davies
Alan trained as a social worker/probation officer in 1973 and practiced as a probation officer in Nottinghamshire for 13 years. He then moved to a post with the NSPCC as a child protection officer where he spent 9 years following this up with 20 years working for the NHS as a clinician in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. As well as assessing and treating the children referred to the out-patient clinic as part of a multi-disciplinary team, Alan was responsible for a specialism working with children whose sexual behaviour had caused concerns. He continued working part-time after retirement finally leaving his position in 2015 by which time his clientele was largely drawn from a children’s secure unit.

Alan supports Kenny in managing Association safeguarding cases in conjunction with the Regional Ministers who provide pastoral support to churches.
EMBA Safeguarding Trustee - Revd Mark Clay (RTL)
The role of Safeguarding Trustee is to raise the profile of safeguarding amongst the trustees of the Association and oversee the implementation of the safeguarding policy and procedures on behalf of the trustees.
