Baptist Union

Our vision as a Baptist movement is ‘growing healthy churches in relationship for God’s mission'.

'Baptists Together' is a term used to describe the movement of nearly 2000 local churches supported by staff in thirteen regional associations, five colleges and three specialist teams based in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

Baptists Together are committed to intentionally developing a culture where we:

  • Seek to be a movement of spirit led communities
  • Feel like one team
  • Embrace adventure
  • Inspire others
  • Share a hunger for God’s coming kingdom.

The Baptist Union Council meets twice a year and is the Union’s decision-making body and deals with a variety of issues relating to national Baptist life.  It consists of some 80 members mostly drawn from churches, colleges and co-opted delegates along with Association and Specialist Teams and helps to set the broad strategic direction of our Union.

EMBA is currently represented on BU Council by Revd Mark Clay (EMBA Team Leader), Revd David Harvey (Moderator of EMBA Directors) and Mrs Sharon Howe (member of Heanor Baptist Church, Derbyshire).
