One of the things that has been new and very exciting for us as MMBC is people coming to the church having encountered Jesus at home having read their bibles and so requesting baptism.
I had an email from a young couple requesting baptism which I thought was a bit odd having never met them before, so I said come have a chat. We had baptisms that coming Sunday and I suggested they come watch and then if they still felt they wanted to get baptised we could do it the following week. Their answer was clear: "No, we believe in Jesus, we have repented of our sins, we need to be baptised."
I baptised them alongside our 2 other baptismal candidates that Sunday. There have been others too who have come through our doors already having given their lives to Jesus at home on their own and now, because of their reading of the bible, have come to realise they need to be a part of the church.
God is doing something new and we are trying our best to keep up and love those he is bringing to us.
