Saturday 25th April 10am-2pm
Littleover Baptist Church, Derby
The EMBA has made 2026 the Year of Growing Leaders. We recognise that good leaders make for good churches and so we are making the identifying, equipping and resourcing of leaders a priority.
We recognise that women sometime face particular challenges to responding to God's call on their lives and we want to give opportunities for them to listen to God and encourage one another.
This day will bring women together to share stories, inspire and encourage one another as they explore their unique calling. This day isn't just about Accredited Ministry but about any sort of leadership in any part of the church.
We particularly welcome younger women who are considering next steps in their career, or what their role in their church could be.
In 1926 Violet Hedger accepted a call to Littleover Baptist Church and so became the first college trained woman to be a Minister in sole charge of a Baptist church. We think this is something to celebrate and one of the ways we can do that is by continue to support an encourage women leaders as they bring their gifts to the church.
During the day we will:
- Hear stories from women who have gone ahead us
- Share our own journeys in leadership
- Encourage and pray for one another
- Find out about training pathways
Are there women in your church who have leadership potential? Bring them along
Are you thinking about leadership but don't know what to do next? Come along

Save the Date: We'll be celebrating Violet Hedger's pioneering journey, as well as all the women who have followed in her footsteps, at a special service on Sunday October 11th at Littleover Baptist Church.
