Dear Friends

The Gathering

Plans are coming together for the Association Gathering on Saturday 20th June.  We're grateful to The Well at Retford for hosting and we're looking forward to hearing from Rev Dr. Nick Allan, Director of the Centre for Baptist Ministry at St. Hild. His keynote address is titled "Keeping Your Eyes on the Ark".  There'll be worship and prayer, time to spend with friends, and seminars, as well as news and updates about our association life.

Baptisms

Framed Pics for newsletter 500x500.png We're delighted to hear from you about baptisms happening in your churches so please keep telling us.  We are keeping track and so far in 2026 we have noted 59 people who have made this public declaration of faith.  We celebrate each one and pray that they will continue to grow as disciples in the days ahead.

Women Exploring Leadership Day
Women from across the Association gathered at Littleover Baptist Church on Saturday 25th April to share stories and consider whether God might be calling them into some form of leadership, maybe as a deacon or ministry leader, or into accredited ministry.  Stories were shared and there was time to pray for one another and hear from God.

We're looking forward to our Celebration Service on 11th October when we'll gather to celebrate not just the 100 years since Violet Hedger, the first woman Minister, was called to a pastorate, but women in leadership past and present.  Baptists Together General Secretary Rev Lynn Green will be the speaker so save the date and look out for more information to come.

National Vacancies
The National Ministries team in Didcot currently have two vacancies: Ministerial Formation Lead and Ethics & Integrity Manager.  The closing date is 14th May

A Note About Home Mission Giving

Recently we've discovered that a number of EMBA churches are sending their Home Mission donations to the wrong bank account. Please could we kindly request that church treasurers check the bank details they use for HM payments.

Please can we ask that if you are about to go on sabbatical, leave or holiday and want to pause the emails you receive from EMBA, please get in touch so that we can make the adjustments. We'd ask that you do not unsubscribe without speaking to us as this can cause problems with how the EMBA holds your information rather than just not receiving emails.
